Brief Bio
Paolo Mori is a researcher of the Information Security group of the Institute for Informatics and Telematics of the National Council of Research of Italy. His main research interests involve trust, security and privacy in distributed systems, such as Cloud, Internet of Things, and mobile devices, focusing on the design and implementation of mechanisms for access/usage control, for trust and reputation management, and for preserving the privacy of (multi-subject) personal data. He is also interested in data privacy aspects in (Decentralised) Online Social Networks and in Blockchain technology. He worked on securit
y and privacy aspects in the Italian e-health scenario, focusing on the security issues concerning the adoption of the Electronic Health Record and its porting on the Cloud. He is (co-)author of more than 100 papers published in refereed international journals and conference/workshop proceedings and of several chapters in books on research topics. He usually serves in the organization and technical program committees of international conferences/workshops related to his research interests. He is usually actively involved in research projects on information and communication security, such as the European Commission funded C3ISP, NeCS, CoCo Cloud, NESSoS, CONTRAIL, S3MS, as well as the EIT Digital funded Trusted Data Management with Service Ecosystem.

Prof. Dr. Roberto Di Pietro is a Full Professor of Computer Science at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia. His professional career began in 1995 as a military senior technical officer in the Italian MoD. A few years later, he transitioned to academia, holding tenured professorships at the University of Roma Tre and the University of Padova, and later at Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar, where he led the Cybersecurity Research and Innovation Laboratory.
In the private sector, Dr. Di Pietro was the Global Head of Cybersecurity Research at Bell Labs (Alcatel-Lucent/Nok
ia), leading multiple international research departments. He has provided strategic consultancy services to the private sector and International organizations, such as the United Nations and the European Union. He established a start-up (exited) and currently sits on both scientific and industrial boards.
His research topics are (among others) AI-driven cybersecurity, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Blockchain technology and Cryptocurrencies, and Distributed Systems Security.
He was awarded the 2020 Jean-Claude Laprie Award for having signi?cantly in?uenced the theory and practice of Dependable Computing and has been elevated to ACM Distinguished Scientist and IEEE Fellow for contributions to the security of distributed systems.
His educational background includes two MS degrees in CS and informatics, respectively, from University of Pisa, a two year post-MS specialization diploma in Operations Research and Strategic Decisions, and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Roma "La Sapienza".

Karen Renaud is a Scottish computing Scientist at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, working on all aspects of Human-Centred Security and Privacy. She was educated at the Universities of Pretoria, South Africa and Glasgow. She is particularly interested in deploying behavioural science techniques to improve security behaviours, and in encouraging end-user privacy-preserving behaviours. She collaborates with academics in 5 continents and incorporates findings and techniques from multiple disciplines in her research.
