Brief Bio
Paolo Mori is a researcher of the Information Security group of the Institute for Informatics and Telematics of the National Council of Research of Italy. His main research interests involve trust, security and privacy in distributed systems, such as Cloud, Internet of Things, and mobile devices, focusing on the design and implementation of mechanisms for access/usage control, for trust and reputation management, and for preserving the privacy of (multi-subject) personal data. He is also interested in data privacy aspects in (Decentralised) Online Social Networks and in Blockchain technology. He worked on securit
y and privacy aspects in the Italian e-health scenario, focusing on the security issues concerning the adoption of the Electronic Health Record and its porting on the Cloud. He is (co-)author of more than 100 papers published in refereed international journals and conference/workshop proceedings and of several chapters in books on research topics. He usually serves in the organization and technical program committees of international conferences/workshops related to his research interests. He is usually actively involved in research projects on information and communication security, such as the European Commission funded C3ISP, NeCS, CoCo Cloud, NESSoS, CONTRAIL, S3MS, as well as the EIT Digital funded Trusted Data Management with Service Ecosystem.

Brief Bio
Professor Roberto Di Pietro is a Full Professor of Computer Science at the KAUST CEMSE Division. He is affiliated with the KAUST Resilient Computing and Cybersecurity Center (RC3).
Dr. Di Pietro started his professional career as a computer scientist in 1995. He served for a few years as a senior military technical officer within the Italian Ministry of Defence (MoD). At the Italian MoD, he managed complex information and communications technology (ICT) projects focusing on resiliency and security.
Before joining KAUST, he spent six years as Full Professor in Cybersecurity at the Hamad Bin Khalifa Unive
rsity College of Science and Engineering (HBKU-CSE), Doha, Qatar.
He also served as Global Head of Cybersecurity Research for Bell Labs (Alcatel-Lucent/Nokia) for almost four years. In that capacity, he coordinated three security research departments—based in Paris, Munich, and Espoo, Finland—tasked with ensuring that research was in alignment with the strategic business goals and moving research results into innovation.
Besides his position at Nokia Bell Labs, Dr. Di Pietro was a professor (with tenure) at the University of Padova, Italy. Prior to the above assignments, he was a professor (with tenure) at the University of Roma Tre, Italy. He founded a startup based on the achieved research results in the domain of access control (successfully exited in 2015).
In his academic career, he has secured $9 million USD-plus in funding (either as LPI or PI).
Dr. Di Pietro has also held several long-term international research appointments at Vrije University, the Netherlands; George Mason University (Center for Secure Information Systems), U.S.; the University of California Irvine, U.S.; EURECOM, France; and the Barcelona Digital Technology Centre, Spain.

Brief Bio
Karen Renaud is a Scottish computing Scientist at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, working on all aspects of Human-Centred Security and Privacy. She was educated at the Universities of Pretoria, South Africa and Glasgow. She is particularly interested in deploying behavioural science techniques to improve security behaviours, and in encouraging end-user privacy-preserving behaviours. She collaborates with academics in 5 continents and incorporates findings and techniques from multiple disciplines in her research.
